4 Reasons to Choose an In-Studio Newborn Session

newborn photography, studio newborn session

If I could only choose one type of newborn photography to do forever — Fresh 48, in-home lifestyle, or in-studio posed — well, I would never be able to decide. But I do really, truly love in-studio posed newborn sessions, and here a few reasons an in-studio session might be perfect for you.

1. The Tidy-Up Factor

You've just had a baby, so you may not feel comfortable hosting a photo session in your own home right now. While I promise I wouldn't be taking photos of the dishes in the sink or the mis-matched couch cushions or the unfinished nursery (hey, baby arrived earlier than expected), if the thought of a photographer in your house makes you more nervous than excited, an in-studio session might be the best option.

2. It's an Event!

So often, the trip to the studio for newborn photos is one of baby's first outings, and it's a memorable special event! This is especially true if mom and dad get to stop on the way home for lunch, or if gramma or auntie tags along to help wrangle toddler siblings.

3. The themes

We can incorporate any theme you can think of into your in-studio posed newborn session, from first responders to hunting and fishing to donuts or literally anything else that has special meaning to you. This is a lot more difficult in an in-home session, since there's little to no posing involved. So if there's a special theme you want to include, studio is the way to go!

4. The poses!

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the relaxed, candid feel of in-home lifestyle sessions, but the sweet, squishy, sleepy poses in the studio just slay me every time. Here are a few of my recent favorites.
