5 Ways to Make Your Photographer Love You

behind-the-scenes

Want to make me — or any photographer — ridiculously happy, and delighted to go above and beyond for you? Aside from the occasional Starbucks bribe, which is always welcome, there are a few straightforward things you can do to make me, and every other photographer in the world, hopelessly devoted to you.

Book in advance

It's almost impossible to book a session too far in advance. Of course it's not always possible to book ahead of time, and I do love the sweet surprise of a last-minute booking, but the sooner I know about a session, the better the chances you'll snag a prime weekend date or golden-hour time slot!

Arrive on-time

Before I had kids, I was the punctual person, always five minutes early, never late. Then babies and toddlers happened and it felt like I was always running behind. So I totally get it! Which is why few things in life make me happier than when a client, especially one with small children, arrives for their session on time. Swoon!

Follow the prep guide

The week before your session, I'll send an email with a prep guide and contract, and it's so, so helpful when clients review and follow the prep guide, and ask questions if something's not clear.

Provide feedback

Did you have a blast at your session? Do you love your sneak peeks? Are you obsessed with your gallery? Do you have other feedback to share? I'd LOVE to hear it! Nothing makes my artist heart happier than to hear, in great detail, what you loved about your session and images, and what you think I could do better next time.

Spread the word

Like most other small businesses, most of my new clients come from referrals... so if you loved your session and are thrilled with your gallery, please spread the word! Tag me when you share your photos on socials, and if someone you know asks for a referral, send them my way — I literally do a happy dance when this happens!
